What stadium did they use to film the Crimson Tide football scenes? Didn't it look like Bama's real stadium? None of the movie was even filmed in Alabama.

Didn't Louisiana State have white helmets at that time?

Can you provide a LINK proving that the football scenes were CGI'ed? The link you put up didn't mention the football scenes.

they wanted to use bryant-deny but bama declined. didn't like the line in the movie about just showing up and running the football and being handed a degree. anyone else go to the lsu bama game when they shot the scenes from the dennis quade movie after the game? all the lsu fans left after the loss so it was just bama fans dressed in fifties garb left in the stands.

In the movie Forrest Gump, special effects were used to turn ELAC's Weingart Stadium into the University of Alabama's football stadium. Using digital FX, a small crowd which was filmed at ELAC, appears to fill the entire stadium.

Did Bama really used to paint their endzones like they have in that movie clip of Forrest Gump scoring the touchdown up there?

Forrest's senior season was probably 1961 in the movie, then. That's the only year when GT played in Birmingham and Kennedy handed out the All-America honors (he was assassinated shortly before the 1963 ceremonies).
A big help here would be the date given on Jenny Curran's grave (I don't have the movie with me, but I know there's a shot of the grave, and you can see the years on it). Forrest and Jenny were the same age, and one can assume that Forrest was 21 during his senior year at Bama.
