It’s not liberal in the way that Austin, Tx is. More like the same reason Baton Rouge votes D

This right here. East Baton Rouge voting 42.5% Republican when the parish is over 50% black. Almost split exactly along the races with how people vote.

It’s always been the rule but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it actually enforced

It depends where on campus. It has been enforced on the parade ground for the last 10+ years. Other parts of campus, not so much.
It’s been death by 1000 cuts for LSU tailgating; but it’s not completely dead yet, although still headed that way.

20+ years ago LSU started their “don’t park on the tree roots” campaign. Ok, most people were good with that since nobody wants to kill trees/ destroy landscaping. But that was the first step to regulating parking/tailgate areas.

Then Skip came along early 2000s and made most large lots reserved.

Then in 2011 most of the interior of campus was made pay to park. But, you could still pay in cash when you pulled up to the lot on game day.

Then, a couple years later they made it a requirement to buy a parking pass ahead of game day for all of interior campus. Many of these spots stay empty for games that aren’t top match ups.

Few years later, parking along Nicholson was shut down.

Now RV’s moved out and old front 9 is gone.

It’s easy to see how fans can get fed up over time.

I’m just glad the rent-a-tailgate spots didn’t get covered with construction equipment. Would be tragic to lose such a tradition.

Actually some in the AD believe reducing the number of tailgates will keep people in TS longer. Some have suggested shutting down tailgates at halftime and enforce open containers on campus at halftime as incentive to keep people in TS and reduce drunk driving

Who is the “some”?

These “some” have names?

Why not? The drive?

My dad would send me off as a 2nd grader with my 7th grade brother sometimes if we couldn’t get tickets together.

Chris Blair is robotic and generic. Awful to listen to. “Hey now!” I’m embarrassed for him when he says that

They really need to quit pussy footing around and blow the levees south of BC. Take the 3B going to be used for this and use it to move the few remaining full-time residents out and fortify the needed infrastructure for the commercial/industries to remain

This is the only way if the Louisiana coast is to be saved long term.

LSU should put away fans in the corner of the east upper

They do. LSU gives the minimum the sec requires to fans in the lower section.

In the official LSU tailgate rules it is not allowed; just like big tents and big bbq pits aren’t either. None of it is enforced.

On the LSU sports website LSU says this:
“No gas powered generators”

But then LSU says this:
“Portable electrical generators are permitted, but are discouraged.”
Would be more incredible in Tiger Stadium today.

Idk why y’all are hating on them.. they’ve been pretty good/full the last couple of years.

They show up but don’t do much compared to student sections of the past. Sit down while looking at phone/filming with phone. It’s how this generation behaves.

Ryan Clark loves Ryan Clark and wanted Sunbelt Billy as our coach. Brian Kelly was just too old and white.

Montgomery, Clarence, Campti, Coushatta

These places have had nothing for a long time, not just the last 20 years.

Campti is one of the poorest towns in the country.

From the beginning of games the crowds aren’t as large as they were 2019 and before. Upper decks half full for exciting SEC games from the beginning. But people also leave earlier. It’s both problems from what I have seen. Yes, I still go to games.

… things have changed since the covid year

I think everyone underestimates the number of people LSU pissed off in 2020 that will never be back. Actual Attendance has been falling for a while but took an obvious dive after 2020. For years LSU has been making it more expensive and more of a hassle to attend games but I think 2020 was the last straw for many.
