He got involved in drugs, I know he got arrested in my hometown after he left the NBA. Last I heard he was playing somewhere in Europe. Damn shame, he had skills.

Chris Porter (born May 9, 1978 in Abbeville, Alabama) is an American professional basketball player. He is a former star forward for the Auburn University men's basketball team that made it to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 1998-1999, Porter's junior season. He was named SEC Player of the Year and was selected to the All-America team. The following year Porter was pictured on the cover of Sports Illustrated as the Auburn Tigers were picked to win the national title. However, true to the Sports Illustrated cover jinx, the Tigers struggled and Porter was suspended for the last 8 games of the season for accepting money from an agent while still in college.

Since his rookie season in the NBA, Porter has been arrested twice, for possession of drugs[12] and driving under the influence

You sure? Auburn was a beast when he was there...

Meh, not really sure. I just know LSU took both games from them in 2000. Probably didn't do too well previous years.

McDyess has had a far superior pro career...
Posted on 3/9/09 at 11:50 am to RedElephants
yea that is true. mcdyess is avg. over 13 per game in his career and stro is at 8.5. this is actually more than i thought either was getting. also mcdyess average for a career is higher than any season stro has ever had and esp lately.

We struggled greatly in 2000, so I am sure LSU probably beat us. 1999. Porter's junior year was when he and we were good. Porter was an incredible athlete and got by on it in college. He cleaned up the boards and could jump out of the gym. His dunks were some of the best ever. However, I do not think he was a hard worker at all. He never developed any type of jumper. I figured he would suck in the NBA since he had no jump shot and he did.
