In addition to the targeting rule changes, the NCAA announced offensive pass interference penalties will now be 10 yards. Previously, the rule called for a 15-yard penalty for OPI.

Why wouldn’t it be the same penalty for the offense it is for the defense for doing the same thing?

Another rule rigged in favor of the offense. An officially codified double standard.

Offensive and defensive holding aren’t the same yardage
PI shouldn’t be
PI shouldn’t be

I've always thought it should be 10 yards and loss of down

Reducing the PI penalty only benefits the defense.

They only want it reduced for OPI, DPI would still be 15 yards

I read it incorrectly at first pass too. This only lessons the penalty for offensive PI, defensive remains 15 and automatic first down.

Because offense didn't already have enough advantages.
