….how did this guy stay in Starkvegas and not get a bag from somebody else?

For some people, it’s not about chasing the most wins or most money. Josh will be an all-time great at MSU, but he’s even a better person.

He’s a great player and a great person. Loyal. But I can also see why a team chasing a championship wouldn’t pick him up. He’s small and a volume shooter that is limited on defense.

Come on now….I meant a blue blood level bag

Mad respect for a guy that stays loyal during this era of college sports.

Bc he’s a dawg. Go fook off somewhere

So you’re suggesting state can’t pay him? I can promise you he’s not taking some discount at state. In basketball everyone can afford to play a couple guys blue blood level bags.

We can pay as much or more as is needed. Its easier for a school to keep a player if they want him. Now he can take a pay cut and go win sure but he wouldn't leave because of money.
But you would be correct in your hypothesis of we would not be able to sustain a roster paying that amount for everyone.

Unfortunately it seems we blew our budget on Hubbard and nobody else this season
For real though state can compete in NIL in basketball and baseball with the SEC. It’s football we have a disadvantage, just too much money and need too many good players and we don’t have the mega wealthy alumni to pull it off.
Honestly I don’t get it. If i was a multi millionaire or billionaire I still would have a hard time blowing millions to pay college players for state to have success. There is zero return on that investment and odds of championships are still very low. Sure it’s a good feeling to win but it ain’t that important to me to blow 7 figures every single year in order to do it. I expect at some point many donors will feel this way if their teams continue to not win at a high level.

I heard this week that of all SEC men’s hoops Seniors, MSU’s Shawn Jones is the only one of them that has played at the same school.

I’ll let state take over basketball and baseball for Mississippi if Ole Miss was the only football team in the state.
