Still Can't believe that Jay Johnson scared Vitello out of college baseball

If you have a chance to go pro, most sane people take it. Has Johnson ever had interest? Does anyone have interest in him may be the better question

lol at lil Jay getting any mlb interest
Tony for bored with college ball - he took a bad program who hadn’t been to a regional in 15 years - missed even the SEC tourney most years with the worst facilities aka little league park and won BIG.
Tony needed a new challenge.

Not for baseball, especially with the money Vitello was making at Tennessee. 162 games is a grind. Jay had wrapped up the CWS nearly a month before the MLB all star break. Pros get a few days off a season and those are travel days. I can get that Tony V wanted to try the big leagues but it’s an easy options to pass up. Wes Johnson just left the twins mid season to take the same job with LSU. He dipped his toe in the pro game, was successful and still wanted back in college. It’s way less work.

Vitello’s a chump. Classic underachiever. He’ll be fired in 3 years.

Honestly, college is better than pro ball now. Think about it, you can turn over your lineup every season and do not have to worry about contracts and players that get comfortable and lazy. You can process players in and out.
This is actually a crazy time when you think that there is more mobility in college than the pros

He’s single. Don’t blame him for changing his lifestyle

Daddy DVH ran him off. 13-2. There, I fixed it for you.

I think Tony was looking for a lifestyle change if you get my meaning.
