I categorize my movie rankings into three groups: Off the chain, boring, and sucks. For instance, last year's winner, Anora, was off the chain. On the other hand, Oppenheimer, from the year before, sucks. I haven’t been to a movie theater more than once or twice in the past five years, but I still keep an eye out for good movies.

Here are my thoughts on the Oscar nominees for Best Picture:

Bugonia – I haven’t seen it and don’t know anything about it, but I’ll watch it

F1 – boring

Frankenstein – boring / sucks

Hamnet – I’m not sure I want to watch it

Marty Supreme – it’s good, but it feels like a copycat of Uncut Gems style and I believe Uncut Gems does it better

One Battle After Another – boring

Sentimental Value – I haven’t seen it and don’t know anything about it, but I’ll watch it

Sinners – sucks

The Secret Agent – I haven’t seen it and don’t know anything about it, but I’ll watch it

Train Dreams – this is the one I would choose as the winner.

Another good movie that wasn’t nominated: Blue Moon

Frankenstein was good and probably the best retelling of the source material ever with great visuals and cinematography. Could’ve been shorter though.
