I’ll caveat it with the numbers this year are a lot higher on 247 than past years. I think they’re waking up to how important transfer portal is and assigned more points to it verse just HS recruiting
Yes it was bc money that I have no idea we had enough for BK buyout, Lane, other staff buyout, and record portal class. I hope to be in the level where I can say I contributed to that.

Does it really mean anything anymore though? They could all leave for the next highest bidder in < 1 year.
This whole process is completely fricked. I don’t know how recruiting and transfer rankings even mean anything anymore.

Here's the fun part.
In the event of this happening, Lane could and will just...do it again

That's great but on3 is more accurate for both transfer player and team ratings by a decent bit and have y'all #4.
quote:
Quantitative Insight: Using PFF grades as a benchmark (available for ~20 overlapping transfers), ON3 ratings had a stronger positive correlation (~0.65) with final grades than 247 (~0.50). High ON3 scores (93+) predicted 85+ PFF grades ~80% of the time; 247's top decimals (0.95+) did so ~60%. This suggests ON3 better captured potential for top-to-mid transfers.
Overall: ON3's production-focused approach better predicted team improvements (e.g., 6 of top 10 ON3 classes reached playoffs or 10+ wins vs. 4 for 247). This aligns with analyses showing higher-rated portal classes correlated with ~60% starter productivity (400+ snaps, 70+ PFF) for ON3 vs. ~50% for 247.
For future cycles, ON3's track record in NFL draft prediction (29% more accurate than 247 in 2025 draft spots) supports its edge in talent evaluation.

Yea it’s not gonna be just about the best players anymore as it is about team chemistry which is gonna be hard to come by with players leaving for bigger checks every year.
