Dude has been quietly very good for the Seahawks. Kudos to him.

He wasn’t great here but he was decent and so was surprised when he went undrafted

Pat Surtain, man.
Dude is gonna go down as one of the greatest cornerbacks to ever live if not the greatest on his current pace. There is not a single receiver in football that has ever had him on skates in the NFL except Davante Adams and that was his rookie year.
Absolute prison warden in the secondary.

He's been the best "extra" defensive back in the league for two years now. He's in a good system for his skillset. He was decent in philly, but nowhere near the player he is in Seattle

I know U of Miami fans were very upset when he signed with us out of HS. Many of them thought he was going to be great.
He did not distinguish himself in Saban’s system here.

Yup. He puts dudes in lock up for 60 minutes. It is insane for an era that is so tilted against the defensive back. He's better than his father and his dad was a top flight corner in the NFL for several years.
Our 2020 defense was not fantastic by the Saban standard but they had three things going for it: Anderson getting pressure on the edge, Barmore putting pressure up the middle, and Surtain taking away one outside receiver. I think the reason Florida was so hard on us was due to their two best receiving threats being an H (Toney) and Y (Pitts) so he wasn't matching on them very often.

Had injury issues.
I hate that he and JAD missed the 2021-22 playoffs due to injury. People always talk about Jamo and Metchie but they made a big difference too.

Healthy/peak Pat Surtain is one of the best corners ever I’d imagine.

Yes I forgot about that. We were missing both our CBs and WRs in that game.

Where is Josh Jobe? I have not seen him in the game tonight? He’s not on the injury report.

Think he’s mostly their dime and nickel corner. If they’re not playing 3 safety nickel.
Problem is that Rams have really went with a lot of 12 and 13 personnel so you’re playing base defense not DB heavy packages

He got cooked by Devante Adams just now

Adams does a lot of cooking

If Seattle blows this game I would seriously think about not going into the locker room if I was #27. What a bonehead.

No shame in it, just calling it honest
