UF to the ACC makes too much sense

The caw has been saying this for years
The UAA doesn’t want to compete with big boy SEC football programs and we should go all in on basketball and fold the football program
But moving to the ACC would make keeping football somewhat tenable
1. ACC Is a basketball conference. Florida has had some success in basketball, recently with Golden and not as recently but not ancient history with Donovan. Plus the UAA can hobknob with a lot of snooty academic ACC schools like unc, uva, duke, and Stanford which is their wet dream
2. Out natural rivals are in the ACC. With the new sec schedule, we’ve lost annual rivals Tennessee and LSU (and lost Auburn a long time ago). Plus FSU and Miami are our two biggest rivals period. If we move we probably can keep UGA. And if not, it’s not a huge loss especially since we’d have Miami every year
3. In the SEC our ceiling is winning the Gasparilla bowl. But in the ACC our floor would be 7-5 and maybe once every 10-15 years we can win 10 games and make a playoff run, maybe every 5-10 if they expand to 24 teams and we can get 8-9 wins.

No way. We helped the SEC dominance in Football when we kicked Ohio State's arse and are a founding member....so frick that. Being in the SEC just makes Football more fun.

UF or SC hit the ACC and the SEC will be adding FSU and Clemson to replace them in a millisecond.

Not that this would actually happen, but... the SEC is already top heavy. Losing two bottom feeders and one school that should be good but can't get out of its own way -- and is thus a bottom feeder right now -- would not be good for the SEC. Someone's gotta take their place at the bottom.

I’m more lukewarm on Miami. Doesn’t fit SEC culturally. Smaller enrollment. Stadium off campus and they can barely fill it.
