Over 100 years, 15 coaches, and only one of them failed to have a losing season as head coach at Auburn.
Sometimes you don’t know what you have until you lose it.

Only time Auburn has fired a coach and I was happy was this coach. Only one this Bama fan was afraid of.

Why? Malzahn was 3-5 against Bama.

During Bama's best run in history

I think at the time it was the best record against Saban in the country.
In the middle of Saban’s dynasty, Malzahn nearly went .500 against him.

Yes, Malzhan gave Saban fits because of his unpredictability. It drove Saban nuts. Malzhan was the type of coach that Auburn needed - unconventional at times. I wonder how someone/something like a Paul Johnson triple option attack would do at Auburn?

Which is better than any other coach did against Nick Saban while coaching in the SEC. I think the only two coaches that got more than two wins against Saban were Gus Malzahn at Auburn and Les Miles at LSU:
Les Miles vs. Nick Saban: 3-7
Gus Malzahn vs. Nick Saban: 3-5
