Losing 3 games is good for a contract extension.

Historical average of approximately 2.63 losses per year over the program's history.
Starting in Saban era it's 1.6 losses per year.

With three losses, Deborah is well below historical AL results, but this now is good enough for them to lock the new low in.

For perspective, you would have to switch 75 of AL wins to losses in order for the average loss per season be 3.
And we haven't calculated the looming 4th loss upcoming.

He's not getting a contract extension as of yet.

You should be more worried about how many seasons you get before Kiffin craps himself and runs to another school.

Keep hoping and dreaming, little guy. Your wish may come true if you keep at it long enough.

And yet Coach DeBoer Beat Tennessee, the Barn, and LSU. You had better beat the teams you need to beat. Just ask Brian Kelly what happens when you lose to BAMA, TAMU, and Ole Miss this year.

Actually it has nothing to do with demise more than it has to do with a business decision due to the transfer rules and NIL. Something I highly doubt you even comprehend.

In this day and age where agents rule college football and have more power than the universities, the move to extend him had more to do with keeping a coach that has proven he can recruit, ensuring recruits and current players do not leave and ensuring the stability he's built doesn't fall apart after two years. Whether it's Alabama, UGA, LSU, Michigan, etc, in this day and age of NIL and portal, you cannot afford to have your coach bolt after two years and completely put the program in chaos.

I love "demise" and we still made the conference title game and made the playoffs in year two. LOL! IN YEAR TWO!!! LOL! So I'm assuming if that's bad then Lane better not only make it in year one but win the SEC title AND go deep in the playoffs or it's a fail and he's already on the hot seat. But uh, uh, corndog, uh, wait, we gone have diffront cry-teria for us...cuz that what we do to be able to participate in conversations. Good luck corndog! LOL!

Everyone can comprehend that Alabama is going to end up with 4 losses.
A historically bad season, that will earn the coach an extension.

Everyone can also comprehend that Alabama being the first ever 3 losses team in the playoffs isn't earning, it's the committee picking.

Never in the history of college football has a 3 loss team ever been considered for a chance to win the championship.
Never.

You know how I know you're an idiot? Because Clemson had three regular season losses last season and made the playoffs. You need to see a therapist about your Alabama complex. You don't wear it well and you embarrass yourself in public.

After LSU became the first 2 loss team to get a BCS Championship bid, it's the least we could do.

so you took Bama’s all time W-L 984-344
344 losses / 131 seasons = 2.63
Thats’s how you got that.
Interesting how you left off wins per year
984 / 131 = 7.51

Another sign you're an idiot. After someone makes you look like an idiot by correcting your misquotes, you just keep......looking like an idiot. Know when to sit down man. You're embarrassing yourself.

Lol
Moron

Prior to the 12-team expansion (2014–2023, 4-team format), no team with 2 or more losses was ever selected.
Except for Alabama in 2025, no other CFP qualifier across all years has had 3 losses entering the playoff.

No team before 2025 with 3 losses has ever been considered for a chance at winning the championship, regardless of the format for choosing the championship, poll selections, writers, BSC, CFP.

This poor fellow has had the best years of his football-watching life ruined by Alabama. Hang in there, little buddy! I'm sure you'll be able to find the help that you need.
