Kudos to derrick Henry. I don't follow the NFL, but was reading a trivia question to say he was the last Heisman Trophy winner to not be drafted in the first round.
I remember when some SEC teams only wanted him as a LB, but he wanted to play RB.
He was right. He now has over 12,000 yards in the NFL and is still going strong. I don't know how much gas he has left in the tank, but there is a great chance he will finish as a top 10 All Time Leading Rusher in the NFL, and if he can hang around for 2-3 more productive years he could finish top 5.
Kudos to him for working hard and proving many of the so-called NFL experts wrong.

He is in 11th place all time now, less than 200 yards from being in the top 10.
He needs around 2,400 yards to crack the top 5.
He is the only player to rush for 2,000 yards or more in a season at the high school, college and NFL level. He has also led the nation in TDs and rushing yards in a season at all three levels.

Had he played anywhere other than Alabama he’d be ranked up there with Bo and Herschel as one of the greatest RBs to ever play in the SEC.

No doubt he is an incredible talent, and deserves every bit of praise coming his way. Like I said...I don't follow NFL football, but when I saw the trivia question I wondered how he had been doing. I knew he was doing pretty well, but had no idea he has been so dominant.
Now...add to that, that he has done it in a era in which NFL teams have gone very pass heavy, and most of the RBs ahead of him played in an era of heavy running teams.

Ezekial Elliot was picked before him as a RB. Elliott did very well and would be considered an excellent pick, but obviously did not have the staying power Henry had.
Henry, btw, was picked 45th overall. Seems criminal right now to have gone so low. I looked it up and there were a lot of names I did not recognize that were picked before him, but again, I don't watch the NFL, so many may have been very good picks.

And the Titans didn't know what to do with him early in his career. He could have a lot more yards at BAMA and in the NFL.

As a lifelong Hog and huge D-Mac fan. Love Henry. Everyone thought D-Mac should’ve been a safety or lb coming out of HS… But what Henry has done and continues to do in the NFL is just awesome. Love seeing big, fast running backs that can do it all.

He was the second RB drafted, he was just drafted at a time where NFL teams were not really valuing the RB position. That's swung back the other way some recently.

What’s the argument against him being #1? Especially if he can close out his career with two more productive years.
He’s not as flashy as some of the guys on the list, but he’s been one of if not the best RB every season no matter the level of competition (HS, college, NFL).

Henry also played on stacked Alabama teams and most assumed he had a major benefit from that which wouldn’t correlate to the nfl.

He is ranked in the top 3 with Bo and Herschel. Those two guys have been held up as the absolute best to ever come out of the conference for so long that there's a reticence to add a new member to their pantheon, but Henry has managed to crack the club and you could make a pretty good argument that he's the greatest SEC RB of all time at this point.

When you combine high school, college and the nfl...he has a strong case as the greatest RB of all time...especially if he has a couple more productive seasons in the pros.

As an LSU fan it pains me to say it, but Derrick Henry is the greatest RB of all time.
Obciously the guys size, speed and athleticism is other worldly.
But his consistency as a bell cow RB when thats not even a thing in the NFL anymore, and most importantly his durability and longevity make him the goat.
