How successful would they be?

Just a year or 2 ago, 40% graduation rate…apply this to each year based on how the player’s grades are trending and they’re essentially playing with about 48 less players on gameday. That’s not including the players who don’t know how to drive… or maybe it is.

I think you meant for this post to sound clever and witty and really stab UGA. Uh....its not. In fact, its embarrassing. UGA is 73-8 this decade, best record in college football during this timeframe.

Not sure if you understand how the NCAA Graduation rates work.

"How the Cohort Works
Identify the Cohort: The process begins by identifying a group (cohort) of student-athletes who started college in a specific fall semester as first-time, full-time freshmen and received athletic aid at any point during their first year.
Track for Six Years: This specific group is followed for six years from their initial enrollment.
Calculate the Rate: The graduation rate is the percentage of students in that initial cohort who graduate from that institution within that six-year window. "

In addition it's almost impossible to get NCAA's data on a single cohort (year). They tend to do them in a group of four year cohorts.

When those numbers were put out it was kids that enrolled prior to Kirby ever getting there included in the 4 year cohorts.. The UGA 2013 class was nuts for attrition... The number will continue to go up once the Kirby cohorts are included in the 4 year sample which will be 6 years from 2016-2020 cohort which should be next year...So in other words these numbers are looking back almost 10 full years,.

feel free to look for yourself.

Example: The latest data available 2024-2025

It shows the rate for men who entered as freshmen in 2018-19 and the four-class average, which includes those who entered as freshmen in 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19.

Fans like you don't realize that this isn't a critique of Kirby Smart's teams... it's actually a critique of Mark Richt's teams. That's how dated the graduation information is when it gets released.

The last release we had included only one class Kirby Smart recruited... his very first class which was mostly chosen by Mark Richt that Smart just held onto after being hired.
