I noticed him giving Gunnar a hand signal just before the snap when he saw a slight opening on the Bama defensive line. Several times Gunnar kept the ball and ran that way and picked up yards. I imagine Drew Bobo will school him in how to play the position and evaluate the defenses. He played a really good game Saturday. and handled that Bama nose guard well.

It looked like Tolliver held up his end of the pass blocking assignments on just about every play. There were a cpuple of times where Stockton pulled the ball down to run where it looked like the pocket was still in good shape, but those could've just been due to good coverage by Bama downfield.

Running QBs make all the difference, outside of Beck always throwing into at the worst time, having real mobility is a huge difference in getting 1st downs or losing 7 yards.....

Toliver is a real good kid. He wants to improve as much as anyone on the team.

When he first arrived he was at 290 pounds. He jokingly told me...
"I'm the smallest of the OL recruits so they are talking about making me play center."

Now he has bulked up and is currently listed at 320 pounds.

He told you this? How many have you met personally, if you don't mind me asking?

His reaction at the end of the game made it seem like he took David Pollack's prediction personally.

I imagine Tolliver will learn and develop at an insane rate in these next few weeks.

I assume he has some trouble snapping or blocking with shotgun snaps. They have time to work on that. Or if snapping in shotgun is something they don't think can be completely fixed, maybe Bobo will put McCray or Lawson Luckie at fullback and install more I formation. Bobo definitely knows how to run it all night long, and defenses don't see it a lot these days.

So hard to defend.

If Gunner gets a little better at keeping his eyes downfield when he starts to run, it'll be even harder to defend. That's when he can find guys wide open.
