The case for why Bama should be left out of the playoffs.

Fact 1: They are getting progressively worse.
Fact 2: They lost 3 games
Fact 3: They lost to FSU
Fact 4: They weren’t competitive in the biggest game of their season.
Common sense: You can’t count wins and ignore losses. When the SEC championship leads to no movement, it cheapens the whole event. The reward isn’t simply playing the game; it’s earning the trophy.
Don’t lose to FSU and you aren’t in this situation.

It's way more than the SECCG that has been cheapened. There is no reason to play tough schedules at all anymore. The 12 team format is stupid.

If you can’t penalize a team for losing a conference championship, what's to stop a team from just saying "We forfeit. See you in the playoffs."?

If Bama does that this year then they’d be in the playoffs without question. Just say “our RBs, LBs, and D line are just a little banged up, but we’ll be good in two weeks.”
