Imagine the NFL letting wild card teams rest the first week of the playoffs while the “wild card” teams get to rest and prepare for the playoffs. This is essentially what we have with the top teams all having to play conference championships.

Heck, I don’t blame Georgia for being pissed A&M lost. They would have had two weeks of rest! Instead, they have to play Bama and risk injuries and losing their first round bye.

Thoughts?

Thats why there should be play-in games or "challenge" games for the lowest seed teams

I liked the idea floated on XM College Sports Radio this week where every league has contingency "data point" games scheduled for championship weekend, that way, it's a 13th game scheduled against another P4 opponent so these teams on the bubble can get consideration.

Something like SEC #3 vs B1G #3 arranged at the beginning of the season

There's too many teams in the CFB playoff. Participation trophy stuff.

The BCS was flawed but much better.
