I don’t watch any CFP shows or care to look at any advanced metrics so I’ll need this broken down to the simplest of terms

If I had to pick one. Oklahoma beat Bama and Vanderbilt lost. They both lost to Texas but Vandy only by three if memory serves correct. That’s all I got though.

Vandy lacks the elite wins Oklahoma has...

Also, this is just me but Oklahoma's loss to Texas was with a visibly injured Mateer... Not that they would have won had they started the backup but they clearly were weakened

Mateer did nothing against Bama. Our offense just sucked. I don’t think he would have made a difference.

Funny to me, Vandys best season is smoke and mirrors.

Mateer has sucked cock basically all season sans the Michigan game.

OU has road wins at TN, and Bama, plus Michigan at home.

Vandy has….some average wins and got rolled by bama.

I just double checked and...

Mateer vs Texas:
COMP%: 52%
TD: 0
INT 3
QBR: 81.5 (worst all season by 20+ points)

I'm not saying he's a worldbeater.... but I mean almost any sign of life would be an improvement

I actually think our defense played well that game... special teams turnovers and missed FGs is what got us that week.

lol everyone beat us in Neyland this year, that is not an accomplishment.

Michigan sucks.

Guess the Bama win is the tiebreaker

That’s what said our offense SUCKED. It was terrible. I understand Oklahoma has an elite defense but this offense should be able to score 24 plus on anyone.

It must be that loss to Alabama, that is the only difference in the results between the two teams when comparing common opponents.

Both teams beat Auburn, LSU, Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee and both lost to Texas.

Vandy is more fun to watch, but they don't have any ranked wins. Zero.
