1. 16 teams
2. Acc, B10, B12 ,SEC champs and runner up’s take spots 1-8
3. Spots 9-16 at large determined by points system
4. Each win given points based on quality of win.
Example: top 25 wins graded. Reverse polls. So if you beat No.1 OSU, you’d get 25 pts. Texas beating A&M would have received 22 pts.
Add total pts up and seed 9-16 accordingly.
What this promotes:
1. In incentivizes playing high quality opponents cause if you win, you get credit. If you lose, you get 0 points.
2. Let the old BCS computer algorithm seed teams each week
3. We get better games and takes the human, political factor out.
I’d like an NFL style Playoff but reality says impossible under current college structure.
Thoughts?
If adopted, I spent a lot of time developing this idea, 20 minutes, and for that, want free semi and Natty tickets, 50 yd line, airfare (First class), Hotel and VIP package.
That’s all

Then cut those 16 in half, that gives you 8 which is the answer.

Or we could just go back to the BcS model instead of humans who have whether they know it or not bias In Regards to loyalty, money and school ties.

I say stick with 12 but go with the 12 highest rated teams. 7-5 conference champs have no business being in a national playoff. Get rid of all auto-bids.
Make a 2nd 12 team bracket for the G5 teams. Give them their own trophy.

This and just use BCS computer system to seed teams.

Getting rid of the committee and going back to something closer to the BCS model would do a lot to help people's trust.
That that said and speaking of the committee, Bama fans need to start to prepare no matter what they have said to be left out if you lose.
