Part 1 is here The Decline is Real
To lead off I should say I am in the analytics business so I approach problems from that perspective. I think I can help the rant understand the bizarre melt they are seeing from LSU fans right now.
I previously laid out how LSU has been on a long and arduous decline. I think we have more data to help us figure it out now.
Saban’s last season at LSU was 2004. We can assume 3 seasons later his players are gone and the program has gone full Les Miles. Starting there we see some interesting data points.
Total top 10 finishes since 2008
LSU-4
Ole Miss-soon to be 3
Alabama-16
Ohio State-about to be 16
What does this data tell us? It says LSU is a lot more like Ole Miss than it is like top tier programs.
So this explains why LSU is attempting to adopt the coaches players and other trappings of Ole Mis, a school they really compete with rather than top tier programs.

We have a national title and two SEC titles since then. Ole Miss has 0. It will stay that way as well. Keep melting.
ETA: two heisman winners as well.

Hiring a former ole Miss coach usually is a sign that you’re shite but it worked for lsu the last time they did it.

If you work in analytics and are using only one data point to support a narrative then you should be fired immediately. My guess is that you googled the definition of analytics and due to a lack of knowledge and reading comprehension thought this is what it was.

We are a lot less like Ole Miss than we are Alabama and Ohio St.
One thing conveniently left out of this is what separates us so so so far from the rebels in the past 25 yrs.
LSU has played in 4 national championships this century, and won 3 of them (with 3 different coaches).
Lane looks at LSU like it's a top 5 job because it is a top 5 job, whether you want to pretend it is or not.
Call it a melt all you want. The facts aren't changing, just the goalposts

Odd title when you have no offensive staff.

I assume one of the two references is when you lost the rematch to a better program in the NC?

I expected this backlash. Hard facts have that kind of impact.

Your best coach in the history of your school left for a rival when your team is 11-1 and set to host a playoff game. Then your AD panicked and made this guy permanent head coach lol. Man y’all are struggling with this and I must admit it brings me great joy.

quote:LSU beat Alabama on the road that year to win the SEC. I wouldn't slight them of that title because of the NC game. Those kids deserved it. It's a shame they have random poster "GnashRebel" trying to discredit them.
