Can one of you offensive gurus explain our formations to me like I'm five?

Why in the chinese hell are we always lining up ALL of our receivers together and more than not within 5 yds of the box?

It seems to take away the short routes because the receivers are all bunched together, along with the defenders covering them.

It also seems to allow defenses to crowd the box.

They like to run some sort of rub route or routes that cross or that flood a zone to get someone open.

Well guess what?

It ain't working. Spread the damn field and give your receivers with speed room to use it.

Very difficult to do when we run those bunch formations. It essentially puts at least 9 dudes in the box on defense.

The final td was spread, maybe even the 1st one. Can't remember the second...drank too much. I think all 3 were spread.

I think the bunch formations are designed to cause man defense coverage issues and put defenders into conflict, but we never seem to have a guy running free. Like coverage busts haven’t happened against us all year. Maybe it’s too simple to defend.

We send multiple receivers to the same space sometimes too, I cant stand that shite, like Obrian, dont care if I misspelled his name either.

I like Grubb on the sideline though.

You're asking this as if our offensive guys are clueless.

DeBoer and Grubb are probably the two greatest offensive minds in college football not named Kiffin.

It sure as hell worked for them at Washington. It worked pretty well in the NFL too.

The problem nobody wants to see is Ty Simpson.
Also, our OL seems to miss at least one block on every other play.

The problem has nothing to do with our formations or route trees or anything like that.

In many ways, like last year, we're trying to fit square pegs (Saban recruits) into round holes (DeBoer offense)

Sometimes it is the coaches
Sometimes it is the running back
Sometimes it is the offensive lineman
Sometimes it is the quarterback

But guess what, sometimes this group of men win 10 games with one if the hardest schedules in the country and will go to play for the SEC championship Saturday.

We should just be appreciative of the fact that we’re continuing to find ways to win games because objectively we are beat to hell and just aren’t that much better than other teams at the moment.

QB: hurt, playing through it but limited
RB1: out
RB3: out
TE1: out
TE2: out
TE3: TF
WR1: injured, decoy
WR2: injured, basically a decoy
C: injured barely able to play
RG/LG: struggling but improving
RT: TF struggling at times

Just enjoy the wins and accept the limitations because the margin for error is razor thin right now.

Part of it is to tell you if it’s man or zone. Also to run rub routes.

Partly to move the safety.. there’s all kind of reasons
