I feel like directly threatening to nuke the program could be argued to fall under “with cause”

I get the sentiment, but what does that gain you? Ole miss won't owe him a buyout.

Lane is walking away meaning Ole Miss won’t owe him. If they fire him with cause and it’s determined to not be valid, they have to pay him the rest of his contract.

What does that have to do with ole miss having grounds to fire him with cause, now

Ole miss being a stepping stone is not a cause to fire their greatest coach ever.

He would win that lawsuit.

OM and the media forced his hand to announce this early not Lane or LSU.

If the reports are true he is wanting to finish the season and OM is the one not letting him. Sounds to me like people should be blaming the media and the OM chancellor and not Kiffin.

Without a doubt. He had two choices, coach a possible championship team or leave. Can't have both. Doesn't work that way.

We don’t know what is true and what is not at this moment. But what we do know is Kiffin didn’t want to open the “I’m leaving” box until the end of the season while the News and OM chancellor was trying to force it early.

They don’t like his answer so now they want to just force him out early during the greatest season they have had in over 60 years. Sounds like they are the assholes. Also there is nothing legally stopping him from taking his coaching staff and recruiting players via the portal. Bitch all you want about the monster that the portal and NIL has created but it’s all legal at the moment.

Seems to me lsu fans have already outed themselves as not understanding what firing with/without cause is already this week, and are going back for a 2nd helping.

i know, keep trying until either you get it, or someone else explains it. This could take longer than it did for kiffin make a decision. On where he wanted to coach next year, just incase I needed to explain that last sentence to you also.

You'll probably need to explain it to him.
