LSU and PSU Are Opposite Sides of the Same Coin

Louisiana State University and Penn State University are essentially the same program.

LSU has 8 claimed and unclaimed National Championships. PSU has 7 claimed and unclaimed National Championships.

LSU has won 6 SEC championships. PSU has won 4 Big 10 championships.

The majority for each school came within a 20 year period and can be attributed to one coach for each school; Paterno for PSU and Saban for LSU.

LSU has an all-time winning percentage of .645. PSU has an all-time winning percentage of .690.

Each school has one college football playoff appearance.

LSU’s bowl record is 30-24-1 (.555). PSU’s bowl record is 32-22-2 (.600).

Each consider themselves blue bloods when their records show they clearly are tier B programs.

LSU’s main resources are oil/gas and chicken fingers. PSU’s main resources are coal and pizza.

Both schools have had serious sexual assault scandals that cost the universities millions in settlements and ended coaches careers.

Each school just fired their head coach after multiple 10 win seasons over the last three years.

Each owed their former coach a buyout of $50+ million.

Both will be worse off after the next coaching hire.

The only difference between the two is that Penn State didn’t try to assassinate their former coaches character and honored James Franklin’s contract.

And now Franklin has a new job at Virginia Tech and Penn State isn’t on the hook for much of that buy out.

LSU has decided to take it to court.

And Penn State purged everyone who was involved in their sexual abuse scandal from the school. LSU just hired a guy who was suspended for misconduct during the LSU scandal as their AD.

But other than that they are the same.
