Avoiding the SEC championship game and potential injuries that might come from it… See Georgia from last year.

That’s just an inconvenient truth

no cause they could lose a bye. I believe the sec champ will have a bye even if it's a 2 loss team. they should. then they might be tempted to drop Aggie out of a bye...probably wouldn't but its kinda risky, plus they have never won the sec

No. You should cherish an undefeated season. Hasn't happened in a long time

The universe is certainly better off if aggy loses. God forbid these goobers run the cupcake buffet this year.

or just bench your starters in the sec title so they dont get hurt and maybe get lucky and backups win it....win/win

Elko needs to pull a Coach Pop and sit all the starters.

they would gain a bye by not having a play in the championship game…

That would be a mistake

CFB playoff committee would definitely punish us somehow to send a message

That's dumb. You guys should want to win the SEC.

Also, you might have to play 4 playoff games instead of 3. So you're back to playing an extra game anyway.

I think they lose the bye with a loss to UTx, but could be the 5 seed which may actually be better than a bye if you skip the SECCG. They will keep the bye if they win UTx but lose SECCG

Is the SECCG on borrowed time?

It’s got nothing to do with “wanting” anything

He asked what was better

How's it better for injuries if you end up playing the same number of games anyway and lose a shot at the SEC in the process?

There is a convincing argument we should just rest all starters in this game.

This is going to be talked about a lot the next couple seasons. I don’t see championship games being a thing in 2-3 years.

No there isn't. If You play in the first round, it would have been ONE MONTH since their last game. They'll have plenty of time to rest.
