Now, I understand there are business reason for this, but this is not a good look for the B1G Conference.

the big ten really provides some terrible matchups to network tv
no wonder they are desperate to sell out to a private equity firm

Interest excerpt from the article
Or it could be seen as a chance for NBC to make more money? When is enough money enough to these people? It never is
quote:
However, because NBC only gets the game once over the course of its seven-year deal, it is difficult for the network to monetize the game, or leverage it during negotiations with distributors. That, according to Ourand, is why the network sees it as an attractive asset to sell.

It’s a business. Its job (and duty to shareholders) is to make as much money as it can (within ethical, moral, and legal bounds).

Whereas the SEC had matchups between ranked teams almost every week of the season, the B1G has had only a couple. OSU, Oregon and Indiana have played a combined total of maybe 2-3 ranked teams all season and one of those games were between Indiana and Oregon. Viewership has to suck. There's no way it can't. Can't believe CBS got the short end of the stick.

I think you're misreading that.
They're saying it's a shite deal that makes them no money. Thus, the SALE of the asset is attractive, not the asset itself.

Not as many people care about college football in the Midwest. Maybe Ohio and Missouri and Iowa but that’s about it. Pennsylvania is the only northeast state that cares
