Brailsford has been in a walking boot this week. If we hold him out, or limit his snaps this weekend, who'll take his place? Ionata or VanDeMark? Roq Montgomery? I haven't heard much from the backup centers this season.

It would be nice to rest him, but this is probably his last game in BDS. That's got to sting to miss that.

VanDeMark gets blown off the line when he doesn’t have to worry about snapping the ball. If he also had to snap the ball he would look worse than Dalcourt did.

He's got one year left of eligibility.

Highly doubt he comes back. It would do nothing to improve his draft stock.

I’m guessing GVM will start at center but I’d rather see Joseph Ionata (the second team center) start if Brailsford can’t go.

To get paid for another year.

This. He's our best lineman because he's fundamentally sound and a very smart player but he's way too undersized to be drafted very high if at all. Plus centers don't go high anyway. He'd likely make more at Bama another year than as a rookie in the league.
