It's funny that the school that benefitted from the "eye test" criteria for years is now whining about the rankings.

Nah it’ll sort itself out if you just win, but it’s just dumb logic and makes no sense.

I never understood why they got rid of the BCS. It did a great (and predicatble) job of ranking teams. The issue wasn't the system, the issue was that there wasn't a playoff. Just let the BCS rank everyone and pick the playoff teams accordingly.
We are 10 years into the committee approach and its a disaster in one aspect or another every single year.

It’s actually a pretty good litmus test. Championship level football usually requires a reliable run game. Otherwise an off night passing shuts down your offense.

It's the amount of teams we are letting in that's the issue. The more teams we let in, the more people are going to have claims on those final spots.
If we're just looking for the top2 teams this year, that's not all that difficult. Ohio St would play Indiana and A&M would likely play Georgia, and the winners would likely playing the BCS. It's hard to get that wrong.
And with 4 teams the committee was basically right every year, because again everything kind of worked themselves out for the most part. Occasional complaints/debate on the 4th spot, but usually not much.
But now with 12 teams it's just out of control. And I don't think the BCS rankings would fix it either. Because you're just going to have so many teams with 2 and 3 losses. And really, none of them have claims for the #1 or #2 spot, which was basically the case that was needed to be made with the BCS.
