But hell of a season so far.

Went to A&M 2008 and this season is second best to date for me with potential to be #1.

Older A&M baws, this the season for you too?

No playoff that year.

But being #4 would be in and we were peaking at the right time.

Manziel actually took home a heisman, meanwhile A&M won’t be winning anything tangible this season

Based on number of A&M posts in the rant, this is the team forum

beating a top 10 ranked conference champion in the cotton bowl was still a big deal, despite what sooners were saying after the game. need to win a playoff game to top that.

Idk if A playoff game would do it for me tbh. It seems diluted with 12 teams

I was on the TAMU faculty during the 2012 season. Went to many of the games home and away including the Cotton Bowl. Have never seen a more electrifying player than JFF. Will leave comparisons to this season and Marcel Reed until after everything has played out. But I will say that Marcel is very impressive, perhaps even more personally than as a football player. He is destined to be an outstanding representative for TAMU well beyond his playing career.

He’s not Johnny on the field, but he’s good

Hard to not think he won’t be a better rep off the field

BUT Johnny’s growth is still happening

You’re making a prediction on the gut

And your prediction overlooks facts and statistics in the present

That’s just “hoping” for a wishful long shot outcome

Thanks for the response. To round out my comment, I was also at A&M for the 2013 season and beyond. Manziel’s performance against Duke in the 2014 Peach Bowl was even more impressive. His ability to rally A&M from that halftime deficit was reminiscent of Reed’s leadership at the South Carolina game this past Saturday. In addition, I had one telling interaction with Johnny at Northgate. He was very respectful in talking with my group and deflected praise for the Duke game to his teammates. Picking up on your point, I agree that Manziel is still growing as an individual and expect him to increasingly play a positive role for TAMU in the future. There will never be another JFF!
