Nov. 12 update:

CBS Sports:
#5 - Jets - Ty Simpson

USA Today:
#4 - Browns - Ty Simpson
#18 - 49ers - Kadyn Proctor

Athlon:
#4 - Browns - Ty Simpson
#18 - 49ers - Kadyn Proctor
#25 - Lions - LT Overton
#44 - Jets - Germie Bernard

PFF:
#1 - Saints - Ty Simpson
#31 - Eagles - Kadyn Proctor

--

I'll update as the year moves on, but it's always interesting to me to follow this. Something else to look at between dissecting the running game woes.

Please Lord, don't let any of those teams draft Ty.

There's a reason they are drafting high.

NFL career over before it started if either of these happen.

Technically, yes. In reality, no. They’ve given up on Watson but haven’t been able to get rid of him yet.

The Jets/Browns/Saints=Where NFL careers go to die. And I say that even though I'm a Saints fan. The Saints are hopeless.

Odds that Ty Simpson comes back next year? His Dad being a coach, could be that he sees that Ty needs more experience at the college level to be successful in the NFL

I read one thing that says Ty has been advised to return next season because of the number of games he's started...and then I've seen him mocked as high as the #1 overall pick.

If he's a first round lock he has to go. It's not a strong QB class in 2026 so timing factors in too.

But I hope he avoids the Jets and Browns. I'd rather see him go later in the first round to a Pittsburgh or somebody halfway competent.

I like Ty as much as anybody but he’s not going that high in the draft. He holds the ball way too long and that is a definite no-no in pro ball.
It’s why the timing is off on the deep passes and he gets hit and fumbles

What quarterbacks are going high in the draft in your opinion? Because NFL teams will draft QBs in the first round. Probably more than they should.

So they won’t unless they think he can start. Especially a top 5 pick. I would take Mendoza in that spot.
Ty is sort of a project. He has not even had a full year as a college starter and it’s a mixed review at this point.
He does a lot of things well and others- so far, not so much.

I mean Tua did too at times. Also Justin Fields. Even Burrow. You actually see that a lot with modern QBs because they’re more athletic and try to play hero ball. If he’s not a 1st round pick it won’t be because of that
