Will not regret it.

Watch the Auburn defense and tell me that those players don't respect him.

Wouldn’t shock me if Auburn hired him full time if they show improvement

They should pass the reigns to him regardless of how this season shakes out.

Proven coach, easy transition.

He was awful at Texas A&M, some of it might be the jimbo effect. No doubt he has the auburn defense doing great this season though. I’d consider him a risky hire with upside.

Almost every coach outside of lane is risky

Whomever Auburn offers will be offered with the stipulation that the D staff remain. Durkin is in a 3-year 2M$ per contract, and people doing the hiring don’t want to toss that out and pay another 6M to assistants to scram - they’ve done nothing wrong. Imagine that D with a halfway competent offense.

They’ll feel like whatever limitations this puts on the field of candidates (fairly severe) will be worth the risk. Question is who will buy into that?

Seems like a good guy, and a solid coach.

Assimilation of culture is a non-issue.

I like it ! War Eagle !
