This looks like it may be one of those years you have to be undefeated in SEC play or only have one SEC loss to get a spot. Running quite a few scenarios with the tiebreaker procedures this is the likely order of preference if these teams ended up with 1 SEC loss. Non SEC losses don't come into play: TX was left off because the chances of them staying at 1 SEC loss is probably close to zero.

1. Bama
2. GA
3. Vandy
4. Ole Miss
5. A&M

I remember the first one in 92' wishing we didn't have it because it could only hurt us. Thats double true today. Even if it doesn't knock you out you could get a key player hurt. Not to mention you might have to play the same team twice. And I hate redos.

This looks like a year it certainly won't help anyone much except it possibly could get the winner a top 4 seed and a bye week. I doubt the committee would ever punish a team for a loss in these games. I think someone taking a playoff spot by winning their conference game is the only way a team that lost one of these games could be left out.

Welp, knowing how internet luck works, Texas is winning out now.

As a UGA fan I of course want UGA to win out (unlikely if we don’t stop getting off the buss 28.5 minutes after kickoff) but I’m also pulling for Alabama and ATM to win out and go to Atlanta. There is no upside to playing the game….getting a home game against what amounts to a rent a win is far more beneficial to a bye week with your starting QB injured.

Would GA be a top 4 seed you think getting a bye week without an SECCG appearance and win?
