If Jackson Arnold played for Deboer and Ryan Grubb

How much better would he be as a QB? Could they turn him into a serious NFL prospect or is there just no hope for the guy?

He would still hold the ball too long.
Grubb stayed in Seattle last year because he didn’t want to coach a QB who could not read the field in Jalen Milroe. Doubt he could do better with Arnold.

Just seems like Arnold has talent. He needs a good OC that could teach him how to play QB.

I think if they had him for 2-3 years he would be a stud. Simpson is noticeably better.
If the question is would he be better under Deboer and Grubb than he was/is under Venables and Freeze, then respectfully it’s a dumb question. Venables is a defensive guy and Freeze is a glorified high school coach

Hugh is supposed to be an offensive guru so they say.

He is offensive for sure.

lol. Well all the talking heads could not talk him up enough at one time.

No, OU ..eeerrr Brent Venables ruined him. Put the world on his shoulders, and entered the SEC as red shirt frosh, without a single experienced QB on the roster, and a lazy hire in Seth Luttrell as OC..and dude got blasted, and benched, and blamed. Now...he just there, and can't function when needed the most. Waste of a 5 star to me. I hope I'm wrong, I hope he goes to a TX school in the BIGXII, and is reborn runnin n gunnin..but I think he's done in the SEC. This Arky game is the best medicine he will ever get, prolly the biggest of his career.

I still don't know if I'm sold on Grubb tbh

I don’t know much about the guy. I don’t know how much eligibility he has left. He certainly needs to find a spot with a team that can develop QB’s. He has talent. It just looks like the guy has never played QB a day in his life though. He certainly doesn’t need to waste to much more time at Auburn.

He has been a pretty good OC to me. He does have a few moments in a game where he calls a play or two that makes you wonder at times. Overall though I think he has done a great job so far this season.

Didn’t hughey beat us with bro Wallace? I’m sure he’s getting what anyone could out of Arnold.

He beat us with Wallace the first time and then Chad Kelly the next season I think. The second game with Chad Kelly probably doesn’t happen without one of the most flukiest plays in college football history though.

Treadwell and the Ole Miss defense had a lot to do with those wins as well. Can't pin it all on Hugh's offensive "genius."

Arnold is a worse Milroe. He'll need a Bo Nix at Oregon or Jalen Hurts at OU type situation to become a decent QB.

Honestly that’s pretty disingenuous I’m certain that happened twice back to back. Maybe he had some good teams.

Grubb has a great feel on passing attack but his running calls are very primitive. Ty accuracy is saving him many times after Grubb has wasted a few plays on low % running plays.

Yeah, the running game being entirely dependent on whether or not Jam Miller is healthy is my biggest concern, followed by what seems like a tendency to go into a shell when he has a second half lead. But maybe those aren't entirely his fault.

Arnold is a less talented Jalen Milroe with less upside.
It would still be a disaster particularly paired with a questionable run blocking OL.
I’d be planning alternate ways to spend my Saturdays after watching “The Jalen Milroe” experience the last two years.

Doesn't Hugh only call first down plays? You cant really blame him for second and third down lol.
