Some group/fans created a page to “stripe” out the stadium. School endorsed it end of week. Was moderately successful.

eehh I don't think we copied tennessee. Schools have been doing fan color-coordinated stuff in stadiums a long long time.
This was the work of one individual with an internet connection that thought "hey, the stadium being striped would be cool, I'll make a graphic for it and share it on social media!" that for some reason the school decided to endorse 48 hours before kickoff.

no "supposedly" about it lol. I took this picture about 30 minutes before kickoff. You can still see the white shirts in the band section that hadn't been claimed yet and a good bit of people in the student section that for some unknowable reason decided to actually put on the white shirts, despite it not being the color they're supposed to. Just an astounding lack of planning and coordination.

It looked weird on TV. As someone else said, it created the impression that there were a lot of away fans.
