Tennessee being ripped on ESPN Radio

Brian Kenny is going off on them right now. On all of the issues with Kiffin the past few days and the fact that Tenn is paying that joker and a bunch of other unproven coaches $5.4 million while they're going through massive budget cuts. Football over academics

UT has been cutting departments left and right the last few months. Every week, it seems, the News-Sentinel announces a new department is getting the ax.

yeah, and at the same time they just put together the highest paid staff in college football. i could understand going all out for a proven winner because there would be at least some guaranteed ROI, but there's a good chance kiffin falls flat on his face

That's what they get for hiring a cocky 33 year old greenhorn.
Charlie Strong deserved that job more than Kiffin.

It's gonna be fun kicking 10RC's arse for the next few years. Saban is a "coach killer". hahaha.

Not too many of the football players go to class anyway. I'm sure their grades have been taken care of.

Well, I guess we can go ahead and stick this thread in the "people who don't know shite about what they are talking about" pile.
UT's academic and athletic departments' funding are completely mutually exclusive.
The academic funding comes from the state, tuition, and some privately funded trusts, scholarships, etc. The athletic funding comes from boosters, ticket sales, TV contracts, etc.
What happens with one budget has absolutely zero impact on the other.
So thanks for starting a thread with information that is completely and categorically false.
Next time try to know SOMETHING about what you're posting.

Blood Runs something...
We give up! All of the SEC concedes to Lane Kiffin and his daddy (formerly known as Univ of Tenn). We are scared!!! Especially with you coming off of a 5-7 season and great recruiting classes of the past few years.
Now go back to Volnation and report what is being said on TD.com like you and Crussel10 have been doing the past few days.
Oh yeah, Tenn is the "Classiest" school and fans in the world. They are the measuring stick for classy and you will win the 2009, 2010 National Championships and beyond. Great job hiring the most successful college head coach in history. Wish we could have got him.
Good night!

All we keep saying is speculation. I mean Kiffin wins he's there. With someone like Chizik he's had a college head coaching job and really struggled. Not Kiffin. I mean he starts winning and this all goes under the carpet.
Or rug. Doesnt' matter.
