her first 500 were in an age when 0 people cared about the sport, now there is about 12 people who care.

I am not a big fan of women basketball. I will watch it during tournament time, but that is it. However you can't deny what she has done either. Its truly amazing. Will be interesting to see what Geno in UCONN can catch her in any of the records if he stays there his whole career.

that is not really true.
Back in the 80's. you had Southern Cal, Stanford, Old Diminon (SP) and Louisiana Tech to wreck havoc with Tennessee.
Recently you have had Tennesse, Duke, North Carolina, Stanford, LSU, Oklahoma, Rutgers to deal with. That is more than 2 teams.

it was them and uconn for a long time and still hardly anyteams give a shite. its not like she is doing this in mens basketball.

I have no clue as to the accuracy of this but a UT fan called in on Ott's show this afternoon, sounded fairly knowledgeble & said that Summit has graduated 100% of her players in her 35 yrs on the sidelines. Some had to come back but all got their degree. If that is true, she deserves all the respect in the world just for that..then factor in her NC's and you have to give her her due.

+1
IF she graduated everyone in 35 years, im impressed.
I still don't care about girls bball.

I don't care about womens basketball and I think what she has done is phenomenal. I don't feel the need to prove my manhood by diminishing her accomplishments.

Summitt deserves all the recognition that comes her way. She's had an incredible career!
Too funny, Alahunter!!!!

1,000 wins and counting....you guys are idiots. She's a great coach and would definitely outcoach your arse. Congrats, Pat.
