Was watching the You Tube channel “Matt Be Great”. He’s saying Sunbelt Billy may be fired this weekend, that the big $$$ boosters have insisted to their AD he be fired ASAP. TIFWIW.

Supposedly, Florida has been going thru back channels (i.e. are speaking with the agents) to Lane and Marcus Freeman. I have to wonder if Lane would take it. Who knows.

This sounds terrible but there are several recruits we could really use, particularly KJ Ford.

Lane would tear it up at UF. The talent pool in Florida alone is ridiculous, and I would just assume they have more resources in general than Ole Miss could ever match. He'd be stupid not to take it, honestly, since it's pretty clear the 'Bama job will never be available to him.

His daughter is at Ole Miss and his son is a sophomore at Oxford High. I don't think he goes anywhere until they graduate.

I feel like Lane is perfect for a more obscure place like Ole Miss where he can be a little quirky and nobody cares. If he’s Lane at Florida and they struggle they’ll turn on him and his personality really fast.

Single Head Coach at Ole Miss making $6-$8mill a yr that’s notorious for chasing hot women where there is a sea of hot women of his choosing that can produce a playoff caliber team somewhat regularly with bonuses and raises and the opportunity to coach there with no worries getting fired anytime soon. I’m sure he can’t wait to get out of that shithole, lol

Napier really should have been fired last year. Mullen at Florida went 10-3, 11-2, 8-4, and 5-6 and got fired, sending a message that one mediocre season and one losing season were unacceptable even after that really strong start. Then they let Napier go 6-7, 5-7, and then he gets to mediocrity with 8-5 and they're like "We have to give him another year!" Makes no sense. I know he was saved by his 4 game run at the end of the year, but that was just beating mediocre LSU, Ole Miss having the inevitable "Kiffining" moment, 2-10 Florida State, and Tulane.

If he is fired this weekend, it’s the worst kept secret in any firing ever.

Mullen was fired due to the record but also because he HATED recruiting and it showed. He also did NOTHING to develop good relationships with the HS coaches in the state. As such, he wasn’t getting very many good players.

The BOT, the AD and the boosters all saw the handwriting on the wall that Mullin was going to run the program into the ground.

Turns out the guy they hired after firing Mullen ran it into the ground. Ironic thing is that Mullen would thrive there in the NIL and transfer portal era.

It's one thing to fire Mullen, but another to replace him with a Sun Belt coach and then retain him through 4 dismal seasons. Have they been recruiting well under Napier? It just seems like they had no solid plan when they pulled the trigger.
