Our whole P4 schedule will probably be on ABC this season.

With South Carolina being announced as an ABC game …I think our whole P5 schedule is gonna be on ABC(unless Auburn gets us on SECN).
Just thought that was interesting. Good for people with antennas.

I have major gripes about ABC and their camera quality and angles ...

And the useless Bottom Line. Just an inferior broadcast to CBS and NBC.

I think they are spread too thin. Between ABC/ESPN, SEC/ACC networks along with the ESPN+ BS. Too many irons in the fire to be able to do like CBS and blow their wad each week on the marquee match up.

I don't know what cameras they use, but NBC has the highest quality broadcast and it isn't remotely close.

CBS and NBC broadcast in 1080. ABC & ESPN are in 720. That’s a big reason for the difference but yes, NBC has excellent quality.
Camera quality, different graphics package, removing the Bottom Line (which ESPN removes for NFL games) are things the SEC should’ve requested in the contract.

And replays....it seems we hardly get a replay unless it's controversial.

Sankey got absolutely worked on that contract. It is insane that the SEC, by far the most popular and successful conference, is relegated to ESPN while the major networks are stuck with unranked or extremely lopsided games every week. What makes this even crazier is that he got less money for the deal, too. So CBS and NBC are paying more to broadcast games like Purdue vs USC than ESPN is paying for Georgia vs Alabama. How does that even happen?
I think people often underestimate just how much less popular college football is outside of the SEC. If you talk to fans of the most popular Big Ten teams, like Ohio State or Michigan, they view their college team as an appetizer for whatever happens with the NFL the next day. I work with many northerners, and they will often ask me something like "So you like Alabama in college, but who's your pro team?" There is often shock when I tell them that I have no NFL team beyond passively supporting whoever has the most Bama players.
We saw this very clearly when Tennessee went up to Columbus in the playoffs last year and it looked like a neutral site due to the way the ticket sales broke out. And once you move beyond the four popular Big Ten teams (Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Oregon), the rest of the conference is on par with Vanderbilt in terms of fan engagement.
It is truly incomprehensible how Sankey signed that deal. I think even anyone in this thread could have worked out something better.

And their stingy use of replays

My hunch was they were broadcasting in 1080p but with a much lower bitrate to save on streaming bandwidth.
Are they REALLY broadcasting in 720p in the year of our Lord 2025?!
