Ole Miss line now - 7

Opened at - 6.5 and the squares have it up to - 7. With our glacial openings, - 7? Smells fishy. Yes, I saw the Ole Miss cluster-furk last week. But, - 7?

Running QB and kiffin calling plays will always worry me.
Their run defense is terrible though so that gives me some optimism

He was ready for us, big time, last season in Oxford and the whole slow to adapt defensively thing continues to cause some concern. Hopefully we can establish the run game early. I would be totally ok with a ball control, joyless murder ball type offensive game plan on Saturday to keep their offense off the field and win time of possession.

Kiffin is starting to figure things out as an HC.. I have a feeling he purposely played down to Washington St. last week. Now was it closer than he thought it would be, yeah! He held a lot back knowing who he’s got this week coming up!

Seems reasonable to me for a home game.
I will say the same thing I said about Auburn and most teams not named Alabama, we have better players (better total team recruiting ranking) so we should win.
But the main issue we have is coaching. Kirby was obviously a great DC at Bama and is a great HC but his recruiting is a lot better than his current coaching staff. We never seem well prepared for any of the teams we play which explains the notorious slow starts. And we can't do that crap against a Kiffin offense that is capable of putting a lot of points on the board.

I feel at peace about this one. I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing but it’s the first time vs a ranked opponent this season that I’ve felt this way going into.

We haven't been an underdog since the 2021 Clemson game. Double digit favorites in just about every game 2021-2024.
It's a lot easier to cover the spread when your team sucks and you can sneak up on people, and it's a lot harder to cover the spread when you're a big favorite and you're every team wants badly to be the team to pick you off.
