Truly awful officiating.

It’s either an Auburn TD, or a Georgia TD. Nothing else.

It certainly isn’t Georgia ball at the one, ffs.

That crew and the Jason Autry crew should never touch grass in an SEC stadium again.

Technically they didn't touch grass on Faurot, but agreed.

Or maybe they did touch some grass from a local dispensary.

SEC officiating is infiltrated by the mob. Can probably trace most of the bullshite straight to back to a smokey backroom in vegas if someone actually investigated it.

That's not true. It could have been a fumble with an inadvertent whistle. Play is dead.

ETA - the crew should never see the inside of an SEC stadium ever again!

The 4k thing is all fine and good, but here's reality: ESPN/ABC doesn't even broadcast the games in 1080p.

BTW, I personally think it was an Auburn TD.

They kept confusing who initially punched the ball free. Wilson reached in after Arnold had already lost grip on the football from the initial punch from Allen. If he did get it in, it was just by the tip (get your one liners in now) and it certainly isn't confirmed on review.

McDonough forgets his role as the play by play man all the time and starts doing analysis for both the TV ref and McElroy.

If it had been ruled a TD, you couldn't say the review proved it wasn't. But you certainly can't say it proved it was. You can see the initial punch has his arm fully extended right at the time the ball is at the goalline. Was it right before or right after the punch dislodged the ball. There's not been one video that I've seen with a straight down the line view showing it.

Is the pylon cam not straight down the line?

Eta: my commentary is coming from a "neutral" party that didn't watch the game live (and was unbiased by what the announcers said during the game.)

yes, but it doesn't show that he clearly had the ball crossing the plane.

Think you misread my meaning there.

As far as being unbiased, I understand what you're saying. But you have to do more than "think" it was a TD. They have to know it was to reverse.

It's not the review makes me think 70/30 it's a TD. The review has to show for sure they were wrong. 100 percent or very near.

I'll admit it's basically impossible to tell for sure but what is 100 percent true is that Georgia had multiple defensive linemen egregiously offside so it shouldn't have mattered

McElroy would sooner die than give Georgia credit for superior play.

I didn’t watch the game and I’m neutral on either team, but in my opinion just looking at the video, if the rule basically states that once any part of the ball crosses the line, it is a TD and the play is dead right at that point……….then it was an Auburn TD!!

The conference will always protect the teams that have a chance at making the playoffs!

Our SEC refs suck big balls and that’s a fact.

The fumble may not have been the worst call of that whole sequence. The targeting was pretty bad and that was when the whole tenor of the game switches I feel,

He hit with shoulder, to the torso,, If the "launch was the reason, then what is he supposed to do let the man catch the ball come down with it then bear hug him, hoping he goes down? You have to try to separate the man from the ball there.

ETA:

2 minutes of football clock time should never take 47 minutes, I believe that is what McDonough said it was.

I have no dog in this hunt however the announcers got it wrong on who punched the ball out. If you watch the white line on the ball, it is moving from the initial punch prior to the player the announcers attributed with causing the fumble. With the call being on the field as a fumble you can not ascertain if the ball was in control as it breached the goal-line and the call had to be upheld.

As for the rest of the calls, that crew sucks and has always sucked. They should be put out to pasture and never be allowed to call another game let alone an SEC game.
