1. UGLY win but I'll take it. A road win vs a pretty good SEC team, especially with them coming off a bye week is impressive.

2. Offensive game plan was decent but not great. I thought Grubb tried getting cute a few times. I felt like Mizzou double dog dared Bama to throw the ball by loading 8-9 guys in the box and for some weird reason, we didn't throw it as much as I thought we would.

3. Offensive line-Yes, Mizzou has a good front seven BUT I felt like the offensive line as whole took a big step backwards yesterday with the odd exception of Proctor. I've been a pretty vocal critic of Proctor but I think he has stepped up his game the past few games. Formby was beyond terrible. One of the worst performances by an Alabama OT I've ever seen. Makes Chris Capps look good. He should never, ever play again. Just horrendous. If his performance doesn't make CKD realize it's time for Michael Carroll to start, I don't know what to say.

4. Injuries-holy crap, I couldn't believe all the injuries. The hit on Derek Meadows was one of the most vicious targeting hits I've seen in a while. I thought the kid was paralyzed for a bit. The hit on Jam Miller SHOULD have been called for targeting. I haven't heard about Kelby Collins and how bad it is.

5. Defense played fairly well. They made some stops and got those INTs. Still a lot of sloppy tackling and poor pursuit angles. Bray Hubbard played well (great INT, got totally faked out by Pribula on the TD) and Dijon Lee flashed. Justin Jefferson played well and made some nice tackles. Nice to see LT Overton get his sacks (1 1/2 sacks). Domani Jackson needs to lose snaps to Lee. So weird, Jackson will be right with his man during a pass play and simply refuses to turn his head when the receiver turns his. He could probably have an INT every time if he'd do that.

6. Special teams were a very mixed bag. Talty simply isn't reliable beyond 40 yards. Frankly, he probably should be playing Division II football. Doud, I don't know WTH is going on with him. SO erratic. Cole Adams made the most out of the one punt he could return and made a nice play on the onsides kick. Huge play by Dre Washington on the fake punt.

7. Daniel Hill will probably get a lot of reps and playing time in the next two weeks. Hopefully he can be an effective pass protector. He runs OK but I'd like to see him run with more authority since he's a huge dude.

8, Ty-played fairly well and made some clutch throws but I think for the first time since the FSU game, he seemed a bit rattled. The offensive line didn't help with their awful play and the RBs doing a terrible job in pass protection. He got a little greedy a few times and held on to the ball too long or tried a pass when he was running to a guy 20 yards downfield when Jam Miller was wide open 7-8 yards away and there was no one around him. Still, he made the big throws when he had to.

9. On to Tennessee. Need to beat those walking bags of pus like a rented mule.

No such thing as an ugly win on the road against a top 15 team IMO.

Agreed, but Missouri has a really good defense and we need to give them some credit too.

3. Offensive line-

Agreed. RT and RB blocking was a dumpster fire. Formby can’t handle speed off the edge which means he can’t start for us at tackle if we want to compete at a CFP level.

Carrol to RT, Formby can fight it out at RG with the others.

This offense desperately needs a power back as we’ve had since Jam came back. Whatever snaps or games he misses should either go to Hill or I wouldn’t mind seeing AK Dear if he can handle pass pro because he looked like the most explosive back we have in his limited snaps.

But whoever is back there MUST be able to handle an edge pressure or they can’t play. The RBs were terrible at picking up blitzes yesterday and that has to get fixed.

I’ll add #10: Lotzier Brooks needs to start and I don’t care who comes off the field outside of Bernard to make that happen.

He’s an absolute star in the making. Gets open. Clutch catches in traffic on key downs. Explosive after the catch.

He needs to be on the field.

It's a win. This isn't peak Alabama under Saban where Alabama was beating fools by 3-4 TDs a game. Had yesterday's game happened during those years, we would have all lost our minds.

As long as Alabama is up by 1 when the game is over, I'm good these days.

Ty had 26 on a couple of short passes that would have given Bama key 1st downs but instead went down the field and those were incomplete.

Bama had control of this game at the 5 minute mark in the 1st half when Ty failed to throw to 26 on 2nd at 4. Sacked on the next play and things fell apart until #5 made the pick at the end.

Id like to see us connect on some bombs. Couldn't do it yesterday because Mizzus defense is too good. But definitely should have some home run balls vs ute.

Ty missing those check downs (and that one in particular) made the interception matter but "fell apart" is WAY too strong.

Falling apart is what they did last year any time things got sketchy on the road. 2024 Alabama loses that game.

So is Richard young completely done at bama? Is there an injury I’m not aware of? I know he’s not a game breaker but he has disappeared completely

Alabama really needs a concerted effort to get AK Dear ready for the field.

I like Kevin Riley as a 3rd down back but he's not really reading his blocks and pick the right gap. I feel like that will come to him at some point but that point is likely not in 2025. He is valuable as a pass catcher and not bad as a pass protector when called upon. There is a role for him now but it isn't as our 2nd back. He's a specialty player.

I like Daniel Hill too but he's in the wrong scheme for the type of runner he needs to be. He's a gap scheme runner if I've ever seen one but we're a predominantly zone scheme run offense.

At this juncture we're either giving Washington more snaps - which I assume is just another Kevin Riley with a lower ceiling - or getting Dear ready enough to not be a liability.

Agreed. Love our sustained drives, but do feel we lack explosives. Need Williams back healthy.

And to another point in the OP, I’m pretty sure Lee played 20 or so more snaps than Domani yesterday, but I might be misremembering.

He reminds me so much of Waddle that every time he touches the ball, it’s “Waddle Time!” Same thing I use to say with my daughter every time Waddle got the ball.

You just know it can turn into a big play when he gets the ball. Now the daughter is a teenager and doesn’t care for ball, but I still have fun with it.

Ty kept this game from being a blowout with his 2nd qtr antics. Bernard was wide open on the 3rd & 5 which would have kept the drive alive. And on that 2nd & 4/ 3rd & 4 series he kept waiting for someone to clear deep. But one 1st down there lets Bama run the clock down to 2 minutes at least. I heard he was trying to hit Williams on those throws but at least get the 1st down, then try.

Doud has been horrible the last couple of weeks. He had two chances to pin Mizzou deep but kicked on 25 yards from the 50 yard line and kicked another soft liner from midfield to the 18 that the returner nearly broke. He has got get better at pinning opponents deep.

I would love to see someone at least try to return a punt on our side.

Thankfully, we were able to sniff out the fake punt.

Defense played fairly well.

I don't know about you guys, but I've had enough of Lawson overrunning plays, taking plays off and refusing contact. He kept Jefferson from making a tackle for a loss because he ran into him. I'm glad Jackson was taken out, but he demonstrated such poor technique on Mizzzou's last two drives that I wish they had kept him off the field.
