…for this year’s team. Not saying we will win it all but the urgency he has and the presence he has as a leader is really impressive.

Did anyone catch him with Ryan Williams after the FG to go up 23-14? It’s about the 4-minute mark. Williams is sitting on the bench with his helmet on and Ty runs over there and gets in his face and starts speaking to him pretty enthusiastically. I’d imagine some motivation and some love happening there. I think he knows how important getting Williams back to who he can be is.

Williams is looking back at him eye to eye the whole exchange. I enjoyed that. For context Williams had just dropped that 3rd down pass.

He also says all the right stuff and obviously puts a ton of work and preparation in.

Add TK for the defense.

They never showed a good replay of the Williams drop, but it looked like he would have been short if he caught it because he was falling down.

A better pass and that would have been a TD.

It wasn’t a great pass but Williams made it look worse trying to cradle it instead of plucking it with his hands. Williams also does not seem like a confident player right now. I think Ty knows that.

That was on Ryan Williams.

He didn't get the right depth on his route. Had he got the right depth the pass is perfect to him and he just has to catch and stop and sit for the first down..

Why he didn't? Well usually you don't get the right depth when you're scared of contact

The pass was short of the first down.

Again Ryan Williams didn't get enough depth on his route. Had he the pass is different from an angle because Ryan would have been a step and a half back and not as advanced forward

I read that exchange as Ty Simpson was telling Ryan Williams that drop was on him.

They didn't show it close up. Simpson was probably telling him to shake it off.

Fair enough, I was definitely reading between the lines because I felt that was a bad throw by Ty more than a bad drop by Williams.

LINK

There’s the link to the game. Said interaction is at the 1:50:50 mark. I can’t figure out how to set the clip to a certain time on my phone.

As I said he didn't get the proper depth and even had he caught that pass we would have been short.

Ryan needs to get the proper depth on those routes to ensure everything aligns.

Not piling on him just telling you guys what his OC and WR coach is telling him from watching that film

I think Ty has that dog in him that we’ve needed some player to have and show.

I don’t really care. That wasn’t even the point of the thread.

Oddly - I assumed TY was yelling, "that one was on me... I should have thrown it better... and I am coming back to you on our next possession and we are going to win this thing"

I don't know why I thought that - but I did. Hollywood is fairly fragile and any butt-chewing might defeat him. But what do I know???? (zero)

All any of us are doing is assuming. But it could’ve been anything. But just based on how Ty carries himself and speaks I think at least a good part of it was probably motivational or trying to pick up Ryan.

On the broadcast they said Ryan and Ty are best friends. If your best friend can’t give you direct feedback, no one can.

The main topic is about Ty’s leadership and I think that’s something we’ve needed for years. We just need more leadership on the defensive side.

Absolutely but please quit calling run option plays for him. He made two bad reads yesterday and then uncharacteristically sacked himself 3/4 of the sacks. Good game yesterday but he’s better than that.
