On this date in Vol Football History, September 28, 1985, Tony Robinson passed for 259 yards and four touchdowns as Tennessee rolled to a 38-20 victory over No. 1-ranked Auburn. The Tennessee defense held Auburn star Bo Jackson to only 80 yards on 17 carries, well below his 247.5 average in the first two games.
Bo Jackson pulled himself from the game claiming he "didn't feel well". This ill feeling came after LB Dale Jones and the rest of the Tennessee D rocked his arse a few times.
Bo was supposed to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated that week. Tony Robinson knocked him off the cover.
Tony Robinson was Michael Vick before Vick.

Speaking of 40 years, 40 years since 1998 is rapidly approaching.

Why do you never talk about UGA? Oh, that's right. Your stupid arse doesn't have any real knowledge of the team. Like most bandwagon riding cocksuckers.

I was an undergrad at MTSU and me and several fraternity brothers drove over from Murfreesboro for the game. Tennessee went on to win the SEC and Sugar Bowl that year if memory serves.

Yes, Robinson got hurt in the Alabama game. Daryl Dickey, Doug's son, was the back up QB. He took over and we won the SEC.
Miami with Heisman winner Vinny Testaverde at QB and Jimmy Johnson as head coach had to beat UT and they would be NC.
We drilled their asses 35-7 in the Sugar Bowl.
