I was an undergrad at MTSU and me and several fraternity brothers drove over from Murfreesboro for the game. Tennessee went on to win the SEC and Sugar Bowl that year if memory serves.
Longhorns go into the Shoe in September and steal a win and keep on winning. Georgia beats them again in a squeaker between the hedge rows and they finish regular season at 11-1. They then face the Dawgs again in the SEC Championship where they finally get off the schneid and beat Kirby and crew.

11-1

I would consider @ OU to be a tough game. Reason I didn't is that it's not really at, and I'd imagine more Texas fans than OU.

It might do you well to do a little reading about the Red River Rivalry.

Facts:

1. The stadium is literally split right down the 50 yard line with OU/UT fans
2. OU is actually closer to the Cotton Bowl than UT is
3. Throw the records out the window. The "underdog" rises up in this matchup as much as any rivalry out there.
4. OU was down the last couple years but they don't ever stay down.

I would definitely consider the OU game a tough out even while they are not yet back to their historical team strength.

Oct 24, 1971 - As a six year old, watched defending Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys beat the New England Patriots 44-21 in first NFL game ever at Texas Stadium.

Sep 28, 1985 - Watched Tennessee Vols upset #1 Auburn and knocked Bo Jackson out of the game at Neyland Stadium.

Oct 27, 2002 - Took my kids to witness Emmitt Smith break the NFL rushing record against the Seattle Seahawks in Texas Stadium.
Why not? It cannot be called a home game. Hell....OU is actually closer to Fair Park than Texas is.
The way UG dominated the LOS in the first game is hard to get out of my head but I think Sark finds a way to get enough quick hits in the passing game and Texas' running game has improved just enough to squeak by in a close one, 24-20 Texas! Go Horns! :dude:

If that game had been in Athens, it might have been a nightmare game...

It was a nightmare game. UG dominated both LOS and Ewers was not then and still is not what he was prior to the injury. If our beloved 'Horns are good enough to get by the Aggies...they will need to "Man-Up" better in the SEC CG or they could be embarrassed a 2nd time by the Dogs. But, we could not ask for a better opp to cement our 1st year in the SEC. Gotta get by a hungry Aggie team first though... and that will be a test in of itself.

I am a Longhorn fan and this response made me laugh out loud. Well done!

UGA isn’t getting in with 4 losses. No one is

Could not agree more and this also blows a hole in your contention that A&M could beat Texas and lose to Georgia in SECCG. That would put A&M at 4 losses. They have to beat both Texas & Georgia to make the show.
[Kentucky might beat them with a little offense.]

Texas leads the SEC in Total Defense by more than 40 ypg. The Horns also lead in passing defense by more than 43 ypg not to mention in Interceptions. The only way UK is going to muster a little offense is if they can consistently run against that defense and with the 10th best rushing offense in the SEC...i don't see it. You have to prove it every given weekend...but as stiff of a test as UK's defense will be for the Horns...I am not the least bit worried about UK's offense. I don't see UK scoring 10 points against the Horns.

Literally no one cares about this .

Well aren't we lucky that we have you here to tell all of us what we care about and do not care about. Apparently College Game Day cares as they will be at the game. Just because you get butt hurt that your school is not one of the historically winningest teams does not mean that nobody cares. Take your hate elsewhere.
Apparently...you missed a lil game Texas had against Alabama last year. Yes...Quinn has figured out how to throw beyond 25 yards...but thanks for asking.

Texas at Michigan

Backdrop:

Michigan...#1 All-time in college football wins with 1,005. Defending National Champs. Riding nation's current longest win streak in FBS @ 15 games. Lost coach to NFL Top Scoring Defense in 2023 but lost 13 players to the NFL.

Texas: Tied #4 in All-time wins with 948. Finished Top Four in 2023. Taking 42 travel players from squad that went into Alabama last year for one of season's marque road wins. Sent 11 players to NFL last year. Two starting RBs injured and going against a team that gave up 9 yards rushing last week to Fresno State.

Texas currently favored by 7 points on the road.

Who ya got straight up and against that spread?
There is a short list:

- Darrell Royal (167-47-5) (.763)
- Never had a losing season
- 3 National Championships
- Mack Brown (158-48) (.767)
- 23 winning seasons in 24 years
- 1 National Championship
Texas Longhorns 10-2
- Solid win @ Michigan
- Tight win vs OU in a slugfest
- 10 point loss to Georgia
- Narrow escape against Hogs
- Nail-biter loss at A&M

#6 seed in 12 team playoff
