Sorry for starting a thread on your board but I'm genuinely curious what yall's thoughts are on your game with UT. Life has been busy for me this fall so I haven't had a chance to really watch either team. Sounds like yall are going to be ready for them though. How does the game break down? Strengths and weaknesses?

This matchup intrigues me.

I like our WRs vs. their secondary. And our secondary vs their WRs. Outside of that Tennessee has the advantage. Our interior Dline is suspect against the run up the middle. This game will come down to these things:

1. Can we stop the run in the A gap.
2. Can we make Tennessee respect the run.
3. Can we give Shapen enough time to go thru progressions.
4. Has Shapen learned to throw the ball away.

Pretty good summary. In other words, we don't stand a chance. IF we can maybe win the turnover by 3, we have a chance.

A very winnable game that the team and the coaching staff choked away in the closing minutes.

Would have rather played a clean game and lost 21 - 31 or something like that.

Agree, I can’t fathom throwing on 3 straight plays after ramming the ball down their throats all game which in turn left them more than enough time to go down and score but Heupel sipped out of the same bottle between series and had some weird clock management shite going on. Lebby lost that game on our last possession of regulation though IMO. Could have run the ball, ate up some clock, and possibly kicked a FG to win it.

Yea I don’t why we abandoned the run late in the game when it obvious Shapen wouldn’t be given enough time to throw

But a couple mistakes cost us big. The dropped deep ball and the bad snap leading to a missed FG.

If neither happened we win by 10

My thoughts especially when we actually have a kicker now.
