Makes sense geographically but not from a competitive standpoint

I assume Pavia will be gone after this year unless he gets a 7th or 8th year of eligibility

Clark Lea could bounce soon

Kentucky is on life support

Traditionallly the two worst programs in the SEC

Texas has no room to gripe about Tennessee with that weak arse schedule y’all had the last two years.

They're their two most played opponents, bro.

With the 9 game schedule, it isn't going to matter. They will have a combination of Utx, UGA, Bama, LSU, OU, Ole Miss, Auburn, etc. every year regardless. The rest of us will get to play the dregs every other year too.

Kind of weak but it is only 2 of the 9 games.

Kentucky-Tennessee and Tennessee-Vanderbilt are two of the oldest rivals in the conference. Hell...in the entire South.

None of us give a frick if the rest of you like it or not. Tennessee whips our arse most years. Guess what? We don't give a frick. I want those filthy orange cocksuckers on our schedule every damn year. Without exception. And Vandy fans surely feel the same way.

Get. the. frick. over. it.

Definitely caught a favor, but I don't think the schedules are going to end up wildly inequitable. Permanent opponents are only 1/3 of the SEC schedule now and for every weak opponent on the permanent list it just means one more strong team added to your rotating list. There isn't much of a way to hide anymore without divisions.

I honestly feel bad for AU and Tennessee fans having to play Vandy annually. It's just a shitty overall game with no possible great outcome and little to no hype or enjoyment. Losing crushes a season while winning gets you zero credit. It's sort of how I feel about Miss St but not quite as bad. I'd rather take the tougher schedule and have LSU, AU, and Tenn as a fan.

Kentucky is a fantastic road trip by the way. Beautiful campus, stadium, and unique things to do around Lexington. Real fall weather in October as well instead of 85 degree heat like most of the South.

Yes, but it's a built in two layups, while all other power programs get one.

That could easily be the difference in making the playoff.

I mean, we had Bama, Florida, and Georgia on our schedule every year for over thirty years. We deserve a break.

Meh. LSU got Arkansas, aTm, and Ole Miss. None of the Big 6/8. LSU is the only team to draw all 3 from schools who have not won a single conference or national title from 2000 to present. Every other team plays at least one annual opponent with a recent national title and multiple conference titles. The last time an LSU permanent opponent even made a conference title game was 2006 Arkansas almost 20 years ago.

All three teams who got Alabama as a permanent opponent also got Vanderbilit. Seems like their was politicking going on.

In hindsight, they should have campaigned to get Kentucky instead of Vanderbilt. Clark Lea isn't leaving unless he gets an NFL head coaching job.

There is a reason Kentucky hates Tennessee more than even Louisville..

They choose to beat Tennessee over a really good Bama Fla or anyone else .

This rivalry goes way back and we need to bring back the beer barrel

If it’s Mustard throwers vs water bottle throwers I’ll have to go with UTk for originality.

We hit Kiffin with the golf ball, so that's gotta be worth something too.
