That offense is not going to cut it.

Yeah I spouted some chit on the rant about our so called Heisman QB but you have to be honest that production was not optimal.
The accuracy was not there, the hesitation on some of the runs but the big thing was what was up with the play calling ????
Man I get going for it sometimes on fourth down but it was like Sark was betting the house every time when he didn't have to.
If he wanted to be so agressive why didn't he cut our offense loose with more misdirection and throws over the middle??
Defense looked good but unless the offense can put points on the board I don't think we get close to the SEC championship.
Arch didn't show me anything today to make me believe he is the future either.

Totally agree with you on the points you mentioned.
Try not throwing the entire team and season under the bus after losing a game like this and you’d probably get a different response from fellow Horns posters. Most of us have no desire to engage is doom and gloom posters who just was to have an emotional rant on the bored.
There are enough trolls out there that make this board annoying at times and impossible to have an actual discussion on football, don’t add to the BS.
Try not throwing the entire team and season under the bus after losing a game like this and you’d probably get a different response from fellow Horns posters. Most of us have no desire to engage is doom and gloom posters who just was to have an emotional rant on the bored.

He had a bad game on the road against a Top 5 team.
He did some good things in the 2nd half, and if he learns like he did last year, he’ll keep getting better.
The sky is not falling imo.. They are the defending champs, and while the games were a little bit different, there were some similarities as well.. Either way, they are a very talented team, as are we..
Despite the bad game by Arch, we were right there.. most teams won’t be able to defend us that way, but to those that can, we’ll have to be better to get over the hump.
We likely win 8-9 games this year with that QB playing like today.. if he improves just a little bit, 10-2 or 11-1 is doable imo.. and I think he will.

You would have like to see him be more accurate today, but going into that environment isn’t an easy thing for a young g QB.
He was going up against a 5 time Super Bowl champion defensive coordinator with the best secondary in CFB. Sark said they did a great job disguising coverages in his post game. Trying to have an experienced QB go in to that situation and perform at an elite level is a lot to ask for.
Overall I’m not discouraged by the game. The defense is still elite. 2 penalties and an amazing catch by their WR got them 14 points. Arch will continue to grow each week. I’m still going with my initial prediction of 10-2 this season.

Yeah I get a bit heated after a loss. I have lived through many OU blowout games.
Just wondering if you guys and gals really think Arch is the answer?
I know a bunch of it is on Sark, he was so conservative in the play calling early, the whole first half except on 4th down... why?
Just punt the ball, back them up and our defense is legit.
What passes Arch did throw were not good. One early pass he tossed to the RB the tight end was crossing open 10 yards down the field.
You think Sark thinks he could not trust or QB?? I do and that is not an encouraging sign for the season.

If you read my posts I straight up say that I’m really concerned with is accuracy and performance having been in the system for years. No argument there.
Is he the answer? My decades of armchair quarterbacking tells me that I have no idea. I remember Horns fans demanding Mack bench Vince back in the day and how’d that turn out.
We didn’t get blown out by 40 points today. Arch had a bad day and didn’t look great but this TEAM kept it close and only lost by 7 points when it could have been far worse.
I’m going to hope it was just a bad day and there are better games ahead.

Well that is a positive but when he took off it was like he was hesitant and just didn't seem committed to the play. Last night that QB from Auburn, Arnold saw the hole and just boom, hit it.
Arch kind of stuttered, do a shake (no man you are a qb) and never used his speed on the outside.
Hopefully Texas learns from this and now with a loss they say frick it and go balls to the wall. I doubt it

Arch will be hard to beat if the game slows down for him and he just plays.. the speed of everything was just too much today..
Arch studies film and there was no film on what they were going to do.. he prob didn’t trust his eyes based on that..

No I don’t think that at all. The defense gave him looks and he called plays based on that.. the play calls were fine imo but we didn’t execute..
Sark does struggle when we can’t do the simple things, because then he can’t builld the next layer, etc.. that’s why the second half looks better than the first half.. we completed some basic plays, which allows us to create the next layer..

Yep, not trying to throw the team under the bus. Defense and pass blocking looking good. I for sure didn't like the QB sneak on the goal line with the whole OSU defense over the center.

Papa I don't know how old you are but I have lived through some beat down embarrassment games from the Red River Shootout. That was something Mack Brown never overcame.

Yep…my point exactly. The issue with Vince was Mack not tailoring the offense to utilize Vince’s strengths and I’m hoping it’s the same with Arch. Both Arch and the staff need to figure out his sweet spot.
The last “savior” QB that comes to mind was Garret Gilbert, which was a MASSIVE disaster. I see Arch more in the Vince camp and not the GG camp. Arch has looked good in games, much like Vince did early in his career. GG NEVER had a game that game me any confidence in his ability.

Man, Arch's footwork in the pocket is damn NFL level. But wtf was up with his accuracy, even with time? I just dont get that aspect... We win the game with passes thrown where they needed to.
