So not really a competition ...
Here's to hoping Pribula has an arm that is accurate for when we face real defenses ...

doesnt seem that way but that is exactly what Drink's history shows. I feel bad for Horn but at least he got paid.

Yeah, I just don't think Drink or Moore offense lends itself to a gunslinging QB ...
More game manager who is athletic and can run ...
I will be throwing stuff at my TV if we have more than 3-5 designed QB runs as if we have Lamar Jackson on the roster ...

This just tells me that Pribula has been better in camp. The competition is over, unless Pribula shits down his leg, and it ain't gonna be tmrw night. If shite gets wonky in the 1st half of the kU game then the competition is back on

If that were true, that would make sense to me but I have yet to see anything in Eli's history that would allow him to admit he might have made a poor choice. Horn is only going to play in blowouts and injury situations unless Eli's ego has deflated a bit.

Eli's ego
Spot on.
For all the great Drink has done, the one thing I still can't overlook is how pedestrian the offense can look when facing a quality SEC defense ...
If we have trouble with the Chickenhawks, at home ... QB should be the least of his worries on the season.

You better get a standby TV. If the offense looks like I think it will, he is going to run for 750 yds this year and have 10 rushing TDs.

I would have preferred each QB get 1st half snaps, but I don't think Drink's ego comes into play with this decision.
I would think starting the guy you recruited and has been around for a few years would be the ego move for Drink. Pribula gives Mizzou the best chance to win in his mind and I'm giving Drink the benefit of the doubt.

Agreed. I would have preferred to see each get a quarter. Watching Horn hand off to Roberts, Davis, and Jones and throwing shallow crosses on 3rd down in the 2nd half is meaningless.

The ego isn't about who he picked or how. The ego part is comes in to committing to the decision. Eli has picked BP as the starter. That is great. No issue with that. Now Eli will be committed hell or high water to that choice regardless of what happens on the field during real games.

I just know that we had a similar conversation 2 years ago revolving around Cook/Horn. Horn's big arm made lots of Mizzou folks damn near hate Brady Cook.

Inside/Outside zone, bubble screens and QB designed runs ...
Hope the defense can win us the games where the opposing defense has a coordinator who game plans against this tired script ...
I need a new TV anyway ... lol

yup. It doesnt work in the SEC w/out being able to stretch the defense somewhat regularly.

Brady Cook's inability to make consistent throws over 20+ yards accurately and consistently staring down his primary receiver before taking off to run is what drove me nuts ...
I'll give it to Cook that he was a gamer, tough as hell and limited his mistakes to win games (Auburn, Arkansas) we might otherwise lose ...
But feel we missed an opportunity in 23/24 because we were limited on offense ... not all on Cook obviously (looking at your Drink/Moore ...)

So is Beau gonna get the Brady treatment from some of y'all?

How should we have capitalized on those '23/24 opportunities in your mind?

Beau was more highly recruited ... so my standard is higher for him than what I expected of Cook.
Again, not seeing practices, kinda feeds into the "what if" scenario ...
Honestly, I'd rather just see Zollers get some reps if Beau fails this season as Horn is probably a bust if he can't beat out a kid who played Catholic school football in PA ...

Beau will be fine as long as he performs. People will only complain if he is severely limiting the ceiling of the offense.

Are we still caught up in stars? Is that what's at the heart of all this preemptive complaining?

With Burden, Wease, Johnson, Norfleet and Noel/Roberts ... we should have been more creative/explosive on offense ...
The Alabama game is a perfect example ... we threw for 72 yards ... or Texas A&M, Cook posted a 21.5 QBR on 13-31 ...
Diego Pavia and Vandy beat Alabama (sure home for Vandy vs. road for us) with Pavia throwing for 250+, 2 TDs and posted a 96 QBR ...
Again, not all on Cook for sure but losing 34-0 to Bama after Pavia had beat them 3 weeks earlier with lesser talent is just nuts ...
