The states border each other and portions of the fanbases are around each other all year long.

Plus from what I remember it is a good game most years.

I agree, SC should be our 3rd

Auburn should get Florida, to restore one of the best old school rivalries

I would like to see us get Florida. Interestingly we have played Mississippi State more times than anyone not named Georgia.

Uga should be permanents with
USC
Tennessee
Florida
Auburn

Florida should be permanent’s with
Tennesee
Uga
LSU
Usc

The fact we diluted this league into fooling everyone that every team should have three permanents instead of six is huge problem.

Georgia fans, especially wealthy Georgia alum have no desire to visit Columbia every other year when they can do a bourbon trail somewhere that isn’t a fairground 150 feet above sea level with a heat index of 125.

Traditionally we've played them in week 2, which is still hot as frick. That's not necessarily going to be the case anymore.

Most UGA and SC fans agree with this.

There was a reason Kentucky was selected two years ago, but it may change, who knows. The two teams that Georgia has played slightly more than South Carolina are Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

5/5 schedule would be amazing..

Playing the FCS and G5 teams is just a waste of time imo.. thats been true for 20+ years..

These dudes are professionals now.. let’s play a pro’s schedule and keep as many rivalries as possible..

FYI - the 5/5 works great with 20 teams too.. I don’t wanna expand, but it’s coming..

I don't consider Georgia a rival at all, but Vanderbilt has beaten Georgia 3x since 1995. Kentucky has beaten Georgia 3x since 1995 including a current 14 game losing streak. Athens is also a 5 and a half hour drive to Nashville and a 7 hour drive to Lexington. SC has beaten Georgia 9x in the same time frame and it's under a 3 hour drive to Columbia. There's no logical reason why they won't be paired up.

I'm glad a Barner posted this thread because for UF I prefer ya'll three as permanents, Barn, Cacky, Uga because that's the three closest to Gainesville geographically. I miss the permanent Aubie game like it was when I attended UF. Now I live in the middle of the Carolinas and lowcountry SC got similar vibes to Northeast FL, shrimp and grits country.

I agree with this. Family is from N Florida, went to school at SC, and the sandy soil immediately felt like home.

I always enjoyed the SC/UGA series, as it was competitive and resulted in some wild, memorable games. It feels right to have it in Week 2, but if UGA wants to get out of it in order to play UK or Vandy, I get it from their perspective.
