It didn't break him as much as it broke us. Shaddy broke us. Stoernover, Fish and Atwater broke us (me).
Dave is our John McDonnell without a single door stop trophy. We'll love Dave forever. And it hurts like a mo fricker.

He's the same, IMO. An incredible coach. But when you're on the pinnacle and miss, you're never the same.
I'm a Dallas sports homer for example. 2006 Mavs killed me. Killed Don Nelson. A single misplayed drive to right field killed Ron Washington. Dez caught it, but didn't.
Dave needs a statue. But he'll never get one. Dude at least has his name on the concrete of graduates. FML.
