Feels weird that only one SEC team plays today.

Yeah baseball has gone more like our football post season rather than basketball. Big downer.

Hopefully the teams left have strong showings. At lease we know the SEC will have 1 team in the CWS.

Furthermore, if the only team that makes it to Omaha is Tennessee, I might have to spend the summer away from the rant.

Also feels weird that we only have the possibility of a max of three teams in Omaha and are only guaranteed to have one.

Am I reading the bracket correctly that the LSU-WV winner would play the UT-Arky winner in the first round of the CWS?

I believe you are correct sir. There has been frickery in the past IIRC where teams crossed over for some reason, but I think baseball is straight up the way you see it in the interactive NCAA bracket is the way it plays out. And I don't think baseball does the loser cross over like softball does, but not 100% sure on that one.

yes it's unfortunate because those three are the likely winners of the CWS and they pretty much have to knock each other out instead of play for the championship.

It is. The bracket is initially set up so if all the top 8 teams make it to Omaha, 1 will play 8, and so on. If say a 16 beats a 1 in the regional and wins all the way until the CWS, then they assume the #1 seeding. The NCAA doesn't reseed after selection Sunday.

Gotta keep up my tradition of throwing an “in” gif on the first page, bigD. Baby is finally coming today! We are in the hospital waiting for my son to join us in the next few hours sometime. Excited to bring him into the world and for the hogs to immediately win a title

Congratulations on the birth of your son!

Y'all going to name him Wehiwa or Kuhio?

I am guessing BallHawg Jr, or BallHawg11.

I am still waiting for an Arkansas poster to use HawgTuah.

Thanks y’all!

Hmmm all good naming options… we’ll have to see if Mrs. BallHawg is open to a pivot in the name we’ve chosen

Funny story about naming your children.

I have a good friend and he and his wife were discussing names and couldn't agree. She was into all the fancy newer names and he wanted a more traditional name for their son. So they reached a compromise. She would pick the 1st name from a long list he gave her, and he would pick the middle name from a long list she gave him.

Their son's name, Justin Case.

20 something years later, Justin gets married and he and his wife are expecting a child. They disagree on the naming, and finally decided to do the same as their parents, with one caveat, the names must be biblical.

Their son's name, Noah Lott.

So yes true story, my friend's son is Justin Case and his grandson is Noah Lott.

Neither mother nor grandmother are happy.
